The masterhead 'NME' is in big bold white capital letters , its one of the first things to catch your eye as soon as you look at the cover by using the text in this way the audience can start to familiarise them selves with the logo of the mazagine therefore making the magazine easy to spot on the shop selves unlike other magazine it doesn't follow the convention of spreading across the entire width, it sits in the top left corner a place that would be instantly recognisable to the target audience rock and atternative music lovers from teenage to mids 20s/30. The main image is of florence a well known artist in the music indistry somewere on the cover it saying specail edition so they've done a close up shot of her face, the image fills all the cover which gives it a more of a high market feels to it and that its a specail edition so they would want it to make it different.
The sellines ' the state of the music today' this is in white writing to make it stand out from the background of florences red hair also gives it a very clean finish to it.
The layout, the layout is formal with the masterhead at the top and everything it usual order.The page is not to busy but I think it really good how the image fulls alll of the cover making it more professional like vogue and all the editorul magazines , clearly showing that there trying to reach that high qutily mark.The sellines and text, the selline lines are in bigger bolder text than the word beneath them as they need to give the auience a guite way of info and need to catch there eye as then they'll read the smaller text underneathe writing,
this makes it stand out from the brightly coloured hair of florences and bye
saying its special edition it makes in different to there usual covers and that
may make people more likey to buy if because its got something different
towards it or different info which people like. The layout, the overall layout
is basically the main image covers the whole page, the master head it at the
top and skyline next to it and the sellines at the side with the anchorage text
at the bottom. The magazine is not as busy as the usual NME front cover. There are not to many sellines and obviouslu the emphasis is on Florence to appeal to the target audience of the special edition. In this way it breaks its own conventions.
