The magazine has a main colour scheme of red ,black,grey and white which gives it a very urban feel which ties in well with the rap industries ,also the colours stand out from the background and catch the audience's eyes, if the magazine uses this colour scheme all the time then the target audience can familiarise the self with the colour of the logo or what colours to look for when looking for the magazine.
The image is of the artist eminem , his one of the biggest stars in the rap industry is properly the best now white rapper, by using a well known person  it makes the magazine look more higher up in the music magazine business , also mite attract female attention as they mite find eminem attractive or both sex's just because theyll like that shoner of music.
The masterhead,'VIBE' is in big ,bold capital  letter making it stand out from the back ground. They'v used  blurred out colours on there masterhead ,as it goes from black to red. Think its better then just plan old simple block colour as it gives it move of an young feel towards the magazine  and ties in well with the colour scheme.
The skyline is 'IS 1998 RAP'S LAST CLASSIC YEAR?' using a rhetorical question is a way of getting  the audience attention as it automatical makes you want to ansewer it in your head... make you think of the question, the skyline is in grey which helps it as its right over the top of the masterhead which is bold but by using a different colour it doesnt make it unclear therefore it still catching your eyes attention.
The anchorage text 'EMINEM, IS CLEAN', this is in big red writting and is actually one of the first things the cort me eye. 'eminem' is in the bigger text as they want you to know that eminem is  involded in the magazine in some way maybe his letting his fans into some gossip about how to rap and his life. 'is clean' in a smaller text as it down needto be as big because th bigger text of 'eminem' has already cort your eye, the selline on the top of is ties into the anchorage text as aswell. 'vicodin .valium .methadone'....'literally nearly dieds' this is put there because as soon as you've noticed the 'eminem' bold writting asyou look around after, eminem is a very respected character and by vasically putting some problems his has/had in his life would make you want to read about his story in the magazine as celebrates are seen to have to most perfect lifes.
